A matcha whisk, also known as a "chasen" in Japanese, is a traditional utensil used for preparing matcha. Made of bamboo with a set of finely spaced prongs designed to effectively aerate and froth the matcha when whisked vigorously in a zigzag motion. (Not circular – important!)
Pro tip: Soak your whisk in hot water before use to soften the prongs.Â
